Along with our friends and family, we've been using versions of this fire pit on campsites and in back gardens for several years. This has allowed us to evolve the fire pit design over time to develop some great features. It's a hard life cooking sausages and toasting marshmallows with a beer on the go to get this right, but someone had to do it! Higher off the ground - Less chance of burning the ground, which campsite wardens like.

Keeps you warmer as the heat is closer to you. You don't have to bend so far to flip the burgers. Separate grills - One side can be lifted whilst you are cooking to add more charcoal or to move it about.

The grills and shelf are designed to fit in the bottom rack of a standard dishwasher. One side can also be removed to allow kebabs to be cooked. Shelf - The shelf lets you keep cooked food warm whilst other items carry on cooking or use it to keep your utensils off the ground.

Toasting/kebab rests - Younger children can rest their toasting forks in the cutouts along the edges for easier marshmallow or damper toasting. With one grill fitted kebab sticks can also be used directly above the hot coals. Wood and charcoal - This fire pit is suitable for burning both logs and charcoal. We often start out with charcoal for cooking and then add firewood after dinner to keep us warm and to add light and a focal point throughout the evening. Easy storage and transport - The fire pit can sit happily on a screw in the wall taking up next to no space. When laid flat it also sits nicely in the boot of your car so can be taken anywhere. Easy assembly - Slots together in less than a minute. Tolerances were designed to allow quick assembly and to allow for the expansion and contraction of the steel as it heats and cools. Robust design - We tried and tested various grades and thicknesses of steel before settling on 3mm steel to give the most stable product whilst keeping weight to a minimum. V-shape - Reduces the amount of wood needed whilst providing a large, open-top area for maximum heat generation and cooking area.

Fire pit - Made from 3mm high-quality mild steel. The fire pit will discolour and form light surface rust over time. This patina can be accelerated by cleaning the fire pit after use and leaving it outside.

To prolong the life of any fire pit don't leave ash in the bottom as it will hold any moisture and cause excessive rust. This also applies to mild steel painted BBQs. Grills and shelf - 3mm food grade 304 stainless steel. Flat packed fire pit and grill - 49cm deep x 36cm wide x 3.5cm high. Assembled fire pit - Approximately 49cm long x 46cm wide x 35cm high. Cooking area - A generous 44cm x 42cm using both grills. Weight - The fire pit with 2 grills and a shelf has a combined weight of about 16kg. Whilst all efforts are made to remove sharp edges and burrs this can't be guaranteed so it is recommended to wear thick gloves whilst assembling and moving or handle with care. Using water to put out the fire can cause hot steam to escape and can warp the fire pit. Don't move the fire pit whilst it is still hot. Don't empty hot ashes into the bin. Cooking utensils and kebab sticks are not included in the sale of this fire pit and grill. Your fire pit should bring you years of joy and forge lifelong happy memories.
